Leo F. King, 87, of Atchison KS died Sunday, Jan. 3rd, 2016 at the Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, Jan.6th  , 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Flack, Pastor of the Riverbend Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison KS. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, Jan 5th at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army or the Riverbend Bible Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Leo F. King was born on September 19, 1928 in St. Joseph, MO the son of Russell and Nancy “Myrle” (Stoffer) King.  The family moved a short time after Leo’s birth to Horton, KS and it was there that he finished his formal education at Horton High School in 1947.  He was married to Elizabeth Middleton and they later divorced.  He was later married to Virginia L. Neely- Willmeth on Feb. 19, 1969 at the First Christian Church, Atchison. Leo worked his entire working career as a machinist for North American Rockwell International Industries, Atchison retiring in 1990.  Mr. King enjoyed traveling, collecting tee shirts, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. King was also a former member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge and Atchison Shepard’s Center.

Survivors include his wife; Virginia King, of the home, two sons; Terry (Dee) King, Portsmouth, VA, and Larry (Ellie) King, Lexington, MO.  One daughter; Frances “Frannie” (Gary) Mason, Atchison KS  and four step daughters ,Barbara (Alvin) Wood, Atchison, KS., Linda (Mike) Piper , Atchison, KS., Mary Merrill, Atchison, KS., and Shirley (Bill) Wyland, Atchison, three half brothers, Russell  (Judy) King, Edmond, OK, William “Bill” (Brenda) King, Shawnee, KS., and Michael “Mike” (Bonnie) King, Olathe, KS.,  21 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren  and 15 great great grandchildren. His parents, and two half sisters, Grace Royer and an infant sister, preceded him in death.
