Roy W. Marlatt, 88, of Effingham, KS, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Village Villa, Nortonville, KS.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.  A Masonic service will be recited at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2016, with visitation following until 8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Grace Hospice or Effingham Fire station and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Roy was born July 13, 1927, in Atchison, KS, the son of Charles Lester and Velda (Cox) Marlatt.  He graduated from Atchison High School and attended Kansas University.  Roy served in the United States Army.  He worked for Beechcraft as a master scheduler for twenty-six years and part time at Sears for thirty years.  Roy was a member of Masonic Lodge #158, American Legion Post 0058.  He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing and his nieces and nephews.

Roy married Nancy Carol Schrick on March 24, 1984 at All Faith Chapel, Wichita, KS.  She survives of the home.  Additional survivors include a sister, Mary Jeanne Hinen, Leavenworth, KS, a sister in law; Ruthanna Marlatt, Atchison, KS, sixteen nieces and nephews, twenty-three great nieces and nephews and twenty-six great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Milton and Lester Marlatt, and a nephew; Morton Marlatt.
