Larry E. Rosenberger, 63, of Falls City, Nebraska, passed away at home surrounded by family, January 29, 2016. Larry was born in Hiawatha, KS, December 1, 1952, one of 13 children of the late Allen and Donna (Snyder) Rosenberger, and had lived most of his life in Brown County, KS, and Richardson County, Nebraska. Larry attended school in Morrill, KS and finished his education in Sabetha, KS. Larry had various professions through the years: Rosenberger Ready Mix, Keim Trucking, Koch Trucking, later started his own sandblasting & construction business, Rosenberger & Sons. He later drove a truck for R&R Express, Keean Thummel Trucking, and Hendrickson Trucking, until he retired. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, watching KU basketball games, New England Patriot football, and sports of all kinds. He loved spending time with family, friends, and grandkids. He enjoyed watching criminal investigation shows, sci-fi shows, news channels, and arguing politics with Kaylee! Larry married Sharon Kneisel, November 22, 1973. They lived in Germany for two years where he was stationed with the United States Army, before being discharged and returning to Hiawatha for a short time prior to living at Hamlin for 20 years, before making their home at Falls City, Nebraska. She died November 12, 2015. Survivors include their three children: Eugene Allen Rosenberger (Whitney) of Rock Port, MO, Darryl Carl Rosenberger (Nichole) of St. Louis, MO, Kaylee Rosenberger at Washburn University, Topeka, KS; grandsons: Carson Allen, Liam Mark Rosenberger; two step-grandsons: Berry Saunders (Christina), Kalem Saunders (Tayha), and two step-great-grandchildren: Dayton & Elhena Saunders; brothers: Steven, Bradley, Mark, Jeff, Corey Rosenberger; sisters: Glenda Rieger, Diana Lyman, Betty Schumaker, Nancy Houchin, Janet Painter; two sisters In law Kathy Engel & Connie Kneisel; brother in law Harlan Kneisel He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Milton & Chris Rosenberger; and a brother in law Richard Kneisel. A Celebration of Larry’s life is planned for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at the Bethany United Church of Christ in Hiawatha, with Pastor Shane Spangler officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, with military honors conducted by Brown County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 9 a.m. Wednesday, where the family will meet from 6 until 8 that evening.
