Quentin Dane Bertels, Sr., 36, of Winchester, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at the scene of a one vehicle accident south of Winchester.

Quentin was born November 10, 1979 in Winchester the son of Kenneth Lee and Marvel Pemberton Bertels. He was a 1998 graduate of Jefferson County North High School and he earned an Associate of Arts degree from Highland Community College Technical School in Atchison. Before being medically disabled, he had worked for Oskaloosa Lumber Company, Lawrence Paper Company and as a Diesel Mechanic for a Farm Implement Company in Russell, KS.

He was married to Siobhan Nicole Leger on September 29, 2006 in Omaha, NE, She survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, Quentin Dane Bertels, Jr., and Dalton Rourke Bertels, both of the home, his mother, Marvel A. Green, Winchester, his father, Kenneth Lee Bertels, Madison, three brothers, Wesley Bertels, Winchester, Dylan Bertels, Lawrence, Loren Bertels, Winchester, two half sisters, Autumn Bertels, Amber Bertels, both of Nortonville, one step-sister, Diana Green, Ruidoso, NM, his maternal grandfather, Ivan “Jerry” Pemberton, Winchester and a paternal great-grandmother, Myrtle King, Hiawatha, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 PM, Friday, February 19 at Barnett Family Funeral Home (1220 Walnut St./U.S. 59 Hwy) Oskaloosa. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Friday before the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Bertels’ Children Education fund in care of the Funeral Home, P.O.
