Anita L. Fassnacht

Anita L. Fassnacht, 66, of rural Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. She was born on March 25, 1949 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Phillip and Ruth (Driscoll) Watkins. Anita attended Rose Hill grade school, graduated from ACCHS in 1967 and from the Crum Beauty School in Manhattan, Kansas. Anita worked as a hairdresser in Atchison and Effingham, Kansas. On February 14, 1970 she married Thomas Fassnacht in Larkinburg, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2016. Anita helped Tom on the family farm, enjoyed yard work, spending time with her family, eating morel mushrooms and catfish. She was a member of the Young Farmers Association, Larkinburg Christian Church and the Church of The Lord Jesus Christ. Survivors include two sons, Patrick (Amy) Fassnacht of Whiting, Kansas and John (Sarah) Fassnacht of Muscotah, Kansas; five grandchildren, Trisha, Wyatt, Aaron, Cody and Taylor Fassnacht; sister, Phyllis Webster of Holton, Kansas. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vicki Hopkins. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.. Burial will be at the Muscotah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice, Church of The Lord Jesus Christ or the Muscotah United Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
