Walter “Bud” Marx, Jr., 89, of Falls City, NE passed away on March 13, 2016 at Falls City.  He was born January 3, 1927 to the late Walter, Sr. and Hazel (Ridley) Marx.

Bud enlisted in the United States Army on June 18, 1945 at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He earned the Army of Occupation Medal and a World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged November 20, 1946 at Ft. Dix, NJ.

He married Phyllis Melendez on June 17, 1960 at Falls City, NE, she passed away December 20, 1997.

Bud was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart in 1945. After high school he attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln for one year. He worked for Falls City Auto Supply for many years and retired when he turned 70. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City Elks Lodge #963 and The American Legion all of Falls City.

Bud is survived by his son, Joe Marx of Omaha, NE, his daughters Kathy Marx of Lincoln, NE and Betsy Sinner and her husband Steve of Omaha, NE and two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Steven Joseph Sinner, brothers, Charles and Warren, and sister, Maxine Gibbs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 A.M at Sts. Peter and Pauls Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dunavan officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, March 17 at 6:30 P.M. at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home

The family will receive friends following the Rosary.
