Edna Mae Peggy (Schriner) Bauer, 98, of St. Joseph, formerly of Wathena, Kansas, died Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Peggy was born on February 26, 1918, in Denton, Kansas, to John and Eva (Wiedeman) Schriner. She retired in 1990 from the Wathena School Library.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, in Wathena.
Peggy married Harry Bauer in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1958.
She was also preceded by: her parents; three brothers, Emmett, Kenneth and Clarence Schriner; sister, Ruth Gose.
She is survived by: her daughter, Candee Hemingsen, of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Casey Ward and Jade Scholz; two great-grandchildren,
A graveside service will be at  2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Highland Cemetery, in Highland, Kansas.
The Harmon-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
