James Daniel “Jim” Foye

James Daniel “Jim” Foye, 56, of Whiting, KS passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He was born November 20, 1959 in Hiawatha, KS, the son of Delbert “Keith” and Beverly (Potterf) Foye.

Jim attended Whiting Grade School and graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1977.  During his school years, Jim played football and loved sports.

Jim was a simple man and didn’t need much to make him happy. He enjoyed coon and deer hunting, took pride in farming, and mowing for his parents. He was also an avid KU fan.

He worked for Mid-Central Egg Plant in Hiawatha, BMB/Alamo in Holton, Sac & Fox and Golden Eagle Casinos; Koch & Company, and Crosswinds both in Hiawatha and Wenger Manufacturing in Sabetha.

Jim married Charlotte Jewell, they later divorced.

Survivors include his fiancé, Louise Harris of the home; parents, Keith and Beverly Foye of Whiting, KS; his daughter, Kirsten Patton (Jonas) of Emporia, KS; his son, Daniel Foye (Aubrey) of Olathe, KS; 4 grandchildren, Micah Foye, Grace Patton, Maisie Foye, Preslee Patton; his brother, Douglas Foye (Karen) of Whiting, KS; 2 sisters, Kelly Schulte (Brent) of Auburn, KS and Vicki White (William) of Silver Lake, KS; 7 nephews and nieces and 1 great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Delbert & Peggy Foye and George & Dorthea Potterf.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial to follow in the Springhill Cemetery at Whiting.
