Sadie Mae Waupoose (Sha-no-qua), 81, of Topeka, KS passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born July 8, 1934 in Keshena, WI the daughter of Fred Wayne and Susie (Notinokey) Spoone.

Sadie received an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science at Haskell Junior College in Lawrence, KS. She had worked for various casinos in Kansas and Wisconsin. Sadie was a member of the Menominee Tribe in Keshena, WI.

Survivors include 6 daughters, Anna Heath of Hayward, WI, Louise Varga of Appleton, WI, Sonja Petonquot of Appleton, WI, Vanessa Stone of Green Bay, WI, Victoria Stone of Topeka, KS and Hope Waupoose of Topeka, KS; a son, Albert J. Waupoose III of Topeka, KS; a sister, Rhoda Mae Cadue of Horton, KS; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.           

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Mitchell Cemetery on the Potawatomi Reservation. Sadie will lie in state at the funeral home beginning Sunday afternoon. Family will greet friends from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS.
