MARION J. GIER HOLTON- Marian Jene Gier, 69, of Holton, KS passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home. She was born October 8, 1946 in Holton, KS the daughter of Marion G. and Wilma “Jene” (Miller) Wood. Marian graduated from Holton High School in 1964. She worked several years as a secretary for Oldham’s Meat Packing Plant and retired after 20 years as a secretary for State Farm Insurance. Marian was a member of the First Methodist Church and was in the Bell Choir for many years. She married Randel Gier on September 2, 1978 in Holton. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 sons, Barry Ireland (Kelli), Dean Ireland (Judy) and Charlie Ireland (Jessica) all of Holton; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery.
