Judith R. “Judy” Norton, 73, Meriden, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her home.

She was born January 20, 1943, at Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Roland A. and Anna Viola Rosevelt Godfrey. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1961.

Judy had worked as a income tax examiner for the State of Kansas and a bookkeeper for Kobe Steak House in Topeka. She attended North Topeka Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Dana) Taliaferro, Jr., Topeka, and Randy (Candy) Norton, Meriden; a brother, Darold Godfrey, Dover; a sister, Sharon Stevens, Meriden; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Norton, a brother, Roland Godfrey, and a sister, Barbara Montgomery.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will follow  at the Valley Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
