Betty Potter
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

Betty L. Potter, 84, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City, Kansas.

She was born on January 30, 1932 in Reserve, Kansas the daughter of George and Dorthea (Wright) Potterf. Betty was a bookkeeper for R & S Implement in Horton, Kansas and had also worked at the Horton Headlight. She was a member of the Horton First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. On May 27, 1950 she married Joseph D. Potter at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2012.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Steve) Meerpohl of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Phyllis (Dennis) Adcock of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; three sons, Tim (Linda) Potter of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Philip Potter of Holton, Kansas and Bill (Tina) Potter of Lyndon, Kansas; brother, Delbert (Denise) Potterf of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Beverly (Keith) Foye of Whiting, Kansas and Sandra (Russ) Herrin of Edmonds, Washington; sister in law, Marge Potterf of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leslie Potterf.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday from 5 to 6:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
