Mark R. Ruhnke, 57, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, June 3, 2016.

Memorial services will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Flack officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 10th from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Riverbend Bible Church or the American Diabetes Assn. and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com.

Mark was born May 8, 1959 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Warren and Mary Alice Knowles Ruhnke.  He attended St. Benedict’s Elementary School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1977.

He and Kimberly C. Coke were united in marriage on November 28, 1987 in Atchison, Kansas.

Mark formerly worked as an over the road truck driver for many years until his health failed and he was unable to continue that profession.  He later became employed with Riverbend International School as a custodian.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, his favorite time was when he was in charge of the bar-b-que, mowing his yard and being in the swimming pool.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Ruhnke of the couple’s home in Atchison, his beloved son and his wife, Zachary (Abrieale) Ruhnke, his father, Warren Ruhnke, Atchison, KS, a brother, Skip Ruhnke, Atchison, KS, two sisters, Lynn Drinkard, Atchison, KS, Donna Enzbrenner, Atchison, KS, two grandchildren, Brayden Ruhnke and Emma Ruhnke and his dog, who accompanied Mark across country in his semi-truck, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Ruhnke.
