Leo P. Eagan, 87, Axtell, died June 7, 2016. Visitation is noon until 5 p.m., Thursday, June 9, at Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home, Axtell.

A rosary service is 7 p.m., Thursday, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Axtell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 10 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Albert Hauser officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bridget Cemetery, north of Axtell.

Leo was born August 1, 1928, on a farm north of Axtell to James and Anna (Mitchell) Eagan. He graduated from St. Bridget Grade School and Axtell High School in 1946. On April 23,1962, he was united in marriage to Marie Rottinghaus, at St Benedict, KS. They lived on the farm where he grew up. Leo was a lifelong farmer and stockman.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; daughters, Arlene (Martin) Talbert, Olathe, Janet (Mike) Stretton, Berryton, Laura (Todd) Welborn, Mary (Russ) Neigenfind, both of Topeka; sons, Patrick Eagan, John Eagan both of Axtell; sister, Margaret Plegge, Beatrice, NE; and six granddaughters.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers and four sisters.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home, Axtell.
