Sarah M. (Kleppe) Clemmons, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at a Topeka hospital. She was born May 4, 1938 in Everest, KS, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Keeney) Kleppe.

Sarah graduated from Robinson High School in 1956 and from Bethany School of Nursing in 1959. She was employed by Bethany Hospital, the Wyandotte County Health Department and the Kansas State Department of Health and Environment as a Health Facility Surveyor where she retired in 1999. She was a member of the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women.

Sarah married Billy H. Clemmons on September 12, 1959 in Robinson, KS. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Marty (Dewey) Williams of Topeka, Dale (Kate) Clemmons of Tecumseh, Bryan (Rhonda) Clemmons of Topeka, Mark (Elizabeth) Clemmons of Olathe. Grandchildren are Amanda Williams, Dylan Clemmons, Michelle Williams, Mitchell (Ellie) Clemmons, Taylor Clemmons, Connor Clemmons, Sarah Lynn Clemmons, Maguire Clemmons and her sisters, Lulu Fuhrman, Twila Smith and Marylan (Jim) Gibbs all of Hiawatha, KS.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2017 at the church. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery southeast of Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, 6020 SE 44th St., Tecumseh, KS 66542 or to the organization of the donor’s choice.
