Donna Ruth Beale, 85, of Sabetha died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, surrounded by her extended family.

Donna was born on December 2, 1930, the daughter of Charles Orville and Reta Arabella (Wanamaker) Thomas at their home in Wetmore.  She was the only daughter of five children.

Donna worked at the Port of Entry for the State of Kansas most of her adult life. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Sabetha Manor and the area casinos. She also dearly loved her cat, Sammie.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth Thomas, Norman Thomas and David Sterling; two sister-in-laws, Vickie Thomas and Vernelle Thomas and her husband, Donald on February 19, 1998.   

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Leroy) Swogger of Sabetha, Debra Deters of Sabetha and Bonnie (Ron) Cope of Tolleson, Arizona; three sons, Steve (Georgie) Beale of Topeka, Michael Beale of Topeka and Randy (Molly) Beale of Edgerton, Missouri and 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and her faithful cat, Sammie.

Donna was cremated.  Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sabetha Manor.  Graveside services will be at the Sabetha Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.  Dr. Bill Simpson will conduct both services.  Memorial contributions may be made to CAPS or to the Sabetha Manor sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas  66534.  www.popkessmortuaries.com
