Nancy Miller

Nancy A. Miller, 100, of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.

She was born on September 11, 1915 in Basswood Manitoba, Canada the daughter of Alexander and Catherine Morrison Buchanan.

Nancy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in Dayton, Ohio, Minneapolis, the Horton Hospital, Hiawatha Hospital and the Tri-County Manor before retiring. Nancy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Everest Historical Society, Falls City China Painting Club, United Methodist Church in Everest until it closed and transferred to the United Methodist Church in Horton, Kansas. She later attended the Everest Christian Church. On January 5, 1946 she married Robert Bruce Miller in Basswood Manitova, Canada. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2004.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy "Gail" Miller of Everest, Kansas; two sons, Bruce (Dora) Miller and Gary Miller both of Everest, Kansas; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gwen Nadiger and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on next Monday, July 25, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Miller Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Miller Cemetery or the Hiawatha Hospital both may be sent in care of the mortuary.
