Gary Dean Moxley, Sr.  77, Atchison, KS passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at First Christian Church, with Rev. Matt Broxterman officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Friday, July 22, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or Kansas City Hospice Palliative Care and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Gary was born May 28, 1939, in Atchison, KS the son of Howard and Agnes (Gerardy) Moxley.  He attended Maryville College.  Gary worked general construction and was employed as a project supervisor for Bromley and Atchison Vo-Tech as a buildings trades instructor.  He also owned and operated Atchison Stor-N-Lock retiring in 2012.  Gary was member of First Christian Church, served as Chairman of Property & Grounds and as a Deacon.  Gary volunteered at Sweep Recycling Center, was a member of Jaycees and the Chamber of Commerce.  Gary was hard working, strong, trustworthy, caring, a Jack of all trades, a foster parent. He enjoyed boating, rebuilding cars, the “liar’s table” at McDonalds.

Gary married Jerene Moxley on January 22, 1961 she preceded him in death on August 3, 1974.  He married Diana Kelly Miller on August 23, 1975, she survives of the home.  Additional survivors include his children; Gary (Kathy) Moxley, Jr., Independence, MO, Craig (Val) Miller, Richmond, VA,  Ayhn Moxley, Kansas City, MO,  Chad Miller, Overland Park, KS, Kristi (Hank) Olson, Atchison, KS, grandchildren, Sara Bartimus, Jenny Bookler, Audrey Moxley, Sydney Moxley, Bryan Miller, Tiffany Vaughn, Paige Miller, Tony Miller, Jerene Moxley, great grandchildren, Riley Miller, Keegan Miller, Delaney Vaughn, Dakota Vaughn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marjorie Winger, two granddaughters Jenna and Janna Moxley.
