Dorothy E. Booth Bomar, 92, Topeka, formerly of Rock Creek, went into the peaceful presence of her Savior on Friday, May 25, 2012. She had been a resident at Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1919, at Barnes, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Edith Pearl Zeek Booth. She attended many schools in Nemaha and Marshall counties, moving frequently because of her father’s work with the railroad. She graduated from Wetmore Rural High School.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for the Rock Creek and Meriden schools as a lunch room cook. She had completed the Adult Vocational Educational School Lunch Class through the State of Kansas Department in Education in Topeka in June 1972.

Dorothy was a founding member of the Rock Creek Bible Church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, VBS leader, pianist and served on the missions board, church board and many other committees.

She married Albert M. Bomar on Sept. 24, 1939, at Farmington. They farmed in Atchison and Jefferson Counties, lived in Wichita where Albert worked at Boeing Aircraft, and then moved to Rock Creek. Albert died on Feb. 22, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gail Martin, a brother, Bennie Booth, and a son-in-law, Albert Pahmahmie.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Larry) Kerr, Rock Creek, Ede (Steve) Eakin, South Fork, CO, and Phyllis Pahmahmie, Topeka; two brothers, Dale Booth, Payette, Idaho, and Francis Booth, Frankfort; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Rock Creek Bible Church. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
