Shirley J. Jenson, 87, of Larkinburg passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 7, 1929 in Denison, the daughter of Loyd and Flossie (Renfro) Coleman.  She graduated from Denison High School in 1947.  On June 17, 1950 she married Paul Jenson at her parent’s home in Denison.  He preceded her in death in 1982.  Shirley retired as a bank employee after 26 years.  She was a member of Larkinburg Christian Church.

She is survived by: her sons, Jerald Jenson (Mak Nae) of Junction City, KS and Bradley Jenson (Jeanne) of Arrington, KS; her daughters, Joyce Peterson (Lee) of Whiting, Ks and Dena Novak (Joe) of Shawnee, KS; her sisters, Elsie Fitzgerald of Spring Hill, KS and Marjorie Todd (Clarence) of Effingham, KS; her 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbur, Everett and Dallas Coleman.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Burial will follow in Larkinburg Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to services beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Holton Community Hospital Hospice and may be left in Care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
