Donald Williams-Bey, 85, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his residence in Atchison with his loving family at his side.

Funeral will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Grand Shiek John Bey presiding. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, August 6th from Noon until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Moorish Science Temple or Oak Hill Cemetery and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted. Donald was born November 14, 1930 in Atchison, Kansas the son of John and Gertrude Simpson Williams-Bey. He attended Lincoln School in Atchison and the Atchison High School.

Donald first became employed with Cooper’s Foundry and then moved to Pillsbury Milling Company where he served as a miller for thirty six years, retiring as a foreman. Additionally he owned and operated the Bey Trash Service for over sixty-five years serving numerous businesses and residences over the years.

He and Ivanola Smith were united in marriage on March 17, 1950. She preceded him in death on April 28, 1978. On August 31, 2000 he and Mary Lou Boldridge were united in marriage in Atchison, Kansas, she survives of the couple’s home in Atchison.

Donald was a member of Moorish Science Temple #47 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Boldridge Williams-Bey, Atchison, KS, two sons, Ron (Angela) Bey, Kansas City, KS, Donald (Betty) Bey, II, St. Joseph, MO, a daughter, Ruthie Bey, Kansas City, MO, a step-son, Steven Lee, Topeka, KS, four step-daughters, Penny Richey, Olathe, KS, Lisa Richey, Hiawatha, KS, Angela Braxton, Ketchikan, AL, Christina Richey, Kewanne, IL, six grandchildren, Tierra Bey, Donald Bey, III, Deon Bey, Jamilla Bey, Rahim Sayles, Jamal Sayles, a great-grandson, Deairis, Gipson and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Williams-Bey, Janet Williams-Bey, four brothers, John Bey, Marcel Bey, Benjamin Bey, Arnold Bey, four sisters, Marion Bey, Frances Bey, Helen Vaughn-Bey, and Captolia Bey.
