Michael Scott Cunningham, 47, of Everest, KS, died Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016, at Mosiac Life Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, from injuries he received earlier in a tractor trailer accident near Iatan, Missouri.

Mike was born January 16, 1969, at Hillsboro, Oregon, one of five children born to Walter and Rose Grigsby Cunningham and moved with his family at a young age to Highland, where he grew up, attended school, and graduated from Highland High School.  He worked at the grocery store in Highland before hauling grain and working about 10 years for Jerry Blevins farms of Highland. Mike had driven a tractor-trailer truck for Tom Stirton Trucking of Horton in recent years.

He was married to Valorie Daniel, September 18, 2009, at Hiawatha.  They have made Everest their home.  She survives.

Also surviving are a son Dalton Scott Cunningham of Oklahoma; three daughters:  Teena Schelper and Julie Berrones, both of California, Mallory Cunningham of Topeka;  his parents:  Walter and Rose Cunningham of Highland; two brothers:  Craig Cunningham of Highland, David Cunningham of Elwood; two sisters:  Brenda Harvey of Kansas City, KS, Melissa Cunningham of Highland; three grandchildren:  Atlas Berrones, Kaedyn and Kairee Schelper.

Memorial Services are planned for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, at the Community of Christ Church in Fanning, with Kathleen Twombly officiating.
