Virginia L. Stalder, 91, Wathena, Kansas formerly a longtime resident of Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at a nursing home in Wathena, Kansas.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Private family interment will be in the Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Faith Bible Fellowship Church. Virginia was born May 28, 1925 in Wathena, Kansas the daughter of John Morgan and Bertha Igo Burton. She attended elementary school in Doniphan County and graduated from Doniphan High School.

She and Leonard Chambers were united in marriage on February 5, 1944 in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Chambers preceded her in death in 1961. She then was united in marriage to Donald Seifert on August 31, 1962 in Wathena, Kansas. Mr. Seifert preceded her in death in 1985. On January 16, 1987 she and William Stalder were united in marriage in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Stalder preceded her in death in 2002.

Virginia formerly worked at Horton Garment Company in Atchison and for Big Smith Factory in St. Joseph, Missouri. And later was employed with the Wathena schools in the dietary department.

She was an active member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Atchison, Kansas. She loved cooking, sewing and socializing.

Virginia is survived by a son, John Chambers, Kansas City, MO, two daughters, Sharon Sprino, Westminster, CO, Tammy Adams, Topeka, KS, a brother, John Morgan Burton, Jr., Tennessee, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, four sisters, Mayetta Dalton, Edith Tracy, Doris Gabriel, Kathryn Fisher and three brothers, Ray, Howard and Harold Burton.
