Mildred Louise Werner, 100, of Horton, Kansas passed away peacefully on October 6, 2016 at the Mission Village Living Center.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 10, 2016 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church with Father Dan officiating Internment will follow at the St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery in Horton, Kansas. A parish rosary will be recited on October 9th, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.

Mildred was born on February 12, 1916 in Germantown, Kansas (now Mercier, Kansas) the daughter of John and Mary (Winterscheidt) Schuetz. She was the last of twelve children in the family. She attended school in Mercier. She married Karl P. Werner on May 10, 1939 in Mercier, Kansas. They resided in Mercier, Fairview and Horton communities. She was a farm and house wife and also worked at the Horton Garment Factory, Holton Garment Factory and Delores Square Dancing as a Sewing Machine Operator. She enjoyed quilting and sewing in her spare time.

Survivors include sons, Don (Connie) Werner of Horton, Ks., Bob (Diane) Werner of Burlington, Ks., daughters, Carol Burns of Blue Eye, Mo., Janice Bechtold of Kansas City, Mo. Grandchildren, D.J. (Julie) of Troy, Ks., Dawna Wilhelm of Everest, Ks., Jana Meyers of Overland Park, Ks., Jeff Molt of Lenexa, Ks., Russ (Amanda) Molt of Overland Park, Ks., Jim Bechtold of Riverton, Wy., Julie Bechtold of Kansas City, Mo., Clint Werner of Burlington, Ks., Tava (Kenneth) McDonald, Eureka, Ks., Tisha Werner, Emporia, Ks. She is also survived by five great grandchildren Sheyenne Werner of Horton, Ks., Paige (Josh) Linck of Everest, Ks., Amanda Wilhelm, Amber Wilhelm and Cade Wilhelm of Everest, Ks. Great-great grandchildren include Lyttia and Karson Linck. Kyler, Casten McKenna and Ava McDonald, Eureka, Ks.,

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Karl, brothers Clarence and Theadore, Father Marion, Gerald, sisters, Gertrude Schaefer, Sister Leonissa O.S.B., Florence, Florina, Henrietta Werner, Eulalia Garsche, Margaret Kimsey and sons-in-law Arlan Molt and Todd Burns.
