Travis Brian Shaw, 52, of Horton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at his home.

Travis was born August 30, 1964, at Hiawatha, one of three children born to Lester and Phyllis Rowan Shaw.  Travis grew up in Hiawatha where he attended Hiawatha Schools, later working to receive his GED.  Travis operated a trash service in Hiawatha a few years, before working delivering propane for Heetco in Robinson and Falls City.  Travis spent many years working for various freight companies in this area as an over the road truck driver.

Travis enjoyed being a part of the early morning coffee group at the Blue Ribbon Diner in Horton. Travis enjoyed adventures in spur of the moment outings, and being chauffeured in those outings.  He had a quick wit…always had a comeback!  He was baptized and married in the First Christian Church in Hiawatha.

Survivors include his wife Debbie (Statler) Shaw of Horton; a step-son Shawn (Becca) Beecham, their children:  Delaney, Nikki and Sam, all of Horton; his sister Diane (Sam) Jenkins of Topeka; nephews: Weston Shaw and Kraig Shaw.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Russell in 2012.

A Celebration and Fellowship for Travis is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at the First Christian Church basement in Hiawatha.  Pastor Dennis Alan Fulbright will officiate.  Private inurnment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.

The family will meet with friends a half hour prior to service.
