Daisy Howe, 75, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at her home. She was born May 13, 1941 in Soldier, KS, the daughter of Donald J. and Donna Gladys (Davis) VanDonge.

Daisy graduated from Soldier High School and lived all of her life in the Soldier and Holton communities. She was a nurse’s aide at the Onaga Community Hospital and at Jackson County Nursing Home. Daisy had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka.

She was married to Ronald E. Howe on December 15, 1963 in Topeka. Ron passed away May 16, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis VanDonge in 1987.

Daisy is survived by her sons, David Howe (Carla), Ron Howe (Lesley) and Brian Howe (Squig) all of Holton, KS; her daughter, Julie Wheeler (Kent) of Holton, KS and step-daughter, Judett Howe of Bonner Springs, KS; her sisters, Deloris Beam (Don) of Circleville, KS and Dianna Wilson (Willy) of Holton, KS; her brothers, Donald VanDonge (Evie) of Topeka, KS and Danny VanDonge (Shirley) of Havensville, KS; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will follow in Soldier Cemetery. Daisy will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
