Joy L. Neumann, 94, Atchison, Kansas died Thursday, November 3, 2016, with her husband, children and family at her side, at Atchison Senior Village.

A con-celebrated Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 12th from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the church. Joy was born March 24, 1922 in Nevada, Missouri the daughter of Clifford and Bessie Braswell Koger. She attended Nevada Elementary Schools, graduating from Nevada High School.She and Richard T. “Dick” Neumann were united in marriage on November 5, 1951 at St. James Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She then attended and graduated from a nursing program at Research Hospital in Kansas City as a registered nurse. She served as a registered nurse until her children were born and then spent her time as a homemaker and mother raising her children and served as a school nurse in Kansas City.She was a member of St. Benedict Parish in Atchison.Survivors include her husband of sixty five years, Richard T. “Dick” Neumann, Atchison, KS; three sons, Richard T. (Susan) Neumann, Jr., Kansas City, MO; M. Kevin Neumann, Alain, UAE; David J. (Janice) Neumann, St. Joseph, MO; two daughters, Joy Caven, Kansas City, MO; Lisa (Torre) Nigro, Leawood, KS; a brother, Zane Koger, Burnsville, MN, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Koger and a son-in-law, Joe Caven
