Louise Heiniger

Louise (Henninger) Heiniger, 90, formally of Fairview, Kansas died on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.

Lou was born on May 20, 1926 the daughter of Ralph and Della (Adams) Henninger of rural Reserve, Kansas.  She had three older brothers and two sisters in her family.  She attended Reserve schools and graduated in 1944.  She met the love of her life, Ken Heiniger at Sycamore Springs.  They were married on December 26, 1947 and celebrated 68 years of marriage together.

Lou was a homemaker and mother to 3 children: Steve, Janet (Summers) and Gail (Kerwin).  She enjoyed Bible Studies, country life, raising a garden and beautiful flowers, and worked part-time as a waitress in several local restaurants.  Lou was a great cook, and enjoyed hosting family gatherings, which featured her delicious food.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and needlework, especially making quilts.

Lou was a faithful Christian and an active member of the Methodist Church in Sabetha.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken Heiniger; all of her brothers and sisters, Jack, Bob and Chet Henninger, Lois Quigley and Elaine Franklin; also a great granddaughter, Hally Yust.

Survivors include her son, Steve (Sonja) Heiniger of River Falls, Wisconsin; two daughters, Janet (Jon) Summers of Fairview, Kansas and Gail (John) Kerwin of Palm Harbor, Florida and 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sabetha.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church sent in care of Popkess Mortuary 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas  66534.  www.popkessmortuaries.com
