Beverly June Flanders, 85, of Topeka, KS passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Midland Hospice in Topeka. She was born at home on November 7, 1931 in Topeka, the daughter of Walter and Cora Alice (Love) Sharrai.

As a child, Beverly lived in Topeka and the surrounding communities, including Willard. She graduated from Holton High School in 1950. She married the love of her life, Raymond Flanders, on March 24, 1951 in Holton, KS. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. Beverly worked for JC Penny’s and later for Volume Shoe in Topeka where she retired as Payroll Specialist.

She was a very kind and loving person and was proud of her family. She was also a breast cancer survivor.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Ray Flanders; her son, Steve Flanders (Diane) of Topeka, KS; her grandchildren, Katrina, Austin and Randy; her sisters, Phyllis Hirst (Darold) of Overland Park, KS and Shirley Flanders (Richard) of Topeka, KS and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pat Dohrman.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will follow in Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton. She will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
