Joraine "Much-A-Tha-Quah" May Tuckwin, 88 of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Vintage Park in Hiawatha, Kansas.

She was born on May 5, 1928 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Pearl Herrick Wahwassuck. Joraine was a teacher's aide for the Kickapoo Nation School. She was a member of the Sac-N-Fox Nation Tribe of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska where she served on the tribal council as a secretary.

She married Lewis Tuckwin in Holton, Kansas he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Johnson of Gladstone, Michigan; two sons, Larry Hale of Carson City, Nevada and Morgan Hale of Fallon, Nevada; sister, Linda Hale of Mayetta, Kansas; grandson, Grey Hale and other grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Sara Jo Hale and Karen McQueen, three sisters, Julia Deener, Anita Hale and Cecelia Hale; two brothers, Louis Hale Jr. and Alan Hale.

Drum services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be on Thursday morning at the Kahbeah Cemetery.
