Harold Edward Tosh

 Harold Edward Tosh, 83, of Holton, KS passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He was born February 10, 1933 near Valley Falls, KS the son of Cecil and Luella (White) Tosh.

Mr. Tosh lived most of his early life in the Coal Creek community, north of Valley Falls. He graduated from Effingham High School in 1950. In 1953 he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served during the Korean Conflict.

          He married Geneva Burget on February 12, 1956 at Coal Creek Church. She survives.

          Mr. Tosh worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 34 years, before having a heart transplant on October 8, 1989, in which he chose to retire.

          He was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton.

          Other survivors include a daughter, Shirley VanDonge (Danny) of Havensville, KS; a son, Harold Thomas Tosh of Holton, KS; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Loren Tosh of Glendale, AZ and Joe Tosh of Westcliffe, CO; 2 sisters, Barbara Goodrich and Sue Manthe both of Topeka, KS.

          He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald and Millard Tosh and a sister, Melva Bowie.

          Celebration of Mr. Tosh’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Holton. Private family inurnment will be in the Holton Cemetery.
