Margaret C. Schuetz, 100, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Mission Village Living Center in Horton, Kansas.

She was born on May 29, 1916 in Downs, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Anna Kurtenbach Schuetz.

Margaret was a beautician and owned and operated Mar-Don's for over 16 years. She was a member of the St. Leo's Catholic Church, Altar Society where she served as past president and vice president. She was also a member of the Horton Hospital Auxiliary where she served and past president, Hiawatha Elks, Horton Senior Citizens and delivered meals on wheels. She enjoyed going dancing with Donald every Saturday night and camping.

On August 21, 1935 she married Donald G. Schuetz at St. Peter's in Mercier, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1985.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Jim) Bottom of Horton, Kansas, Cheryl (Pat) McAfee of Horton, Kansas and Mary (Bill) Becker of Denton, Kansas; four sons, Leslie "Pete" (Nora) Schuetz of Hoyt, Kansas, Dale (Carol) Schuetz of Powhattan, Kansas, Rick (Peggy) Schuetz of Hoyt, Kansas, Randy (Carrie) Schuetz of Holton, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Sharon Schuetz of Topeka, Kansas; 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Bernard Schuetz, four brothers, Earl, Elmer, Dutch and Norman, two sisters, Elsie Mueller and Helen Schuetz, and two grandchildren, Brandon Schuetz and Erin Schuetz.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton with visitation to follow. Burial will be at the St. Peter's in Mercier, Kansas.
