Ellen May Furgason Stoll, of Topeka, entered Heaven January 18, 2017. She was born July 22, 1921 in Topeka to Bert and Maggie May Mitchell Furgason. She had 2 older brothers, Harry and Raymond “Bill”, and a younger sister, Mary. She grew up playing softball and basketball. In 1939 she graduated from Topeka High School, and later from Stewart’s Beauty Academy.

Ellen met the love of her life, Edward William Stoll, in 1947 on a blind date at Meadow Acres Ballroom in Topeka. They married January 22, 1949, and made their home on a farm southwest of Holton. Daughter, Sally Ellen was born in 1957.

Ellen was a farm wife and homemaker. She loved to sew and bake, and took great pride in her home.  She was very active in her church, Evangel United Methodist as a Sunday school and VBS teacher, youth superintendent, and member of King’s Daughters class.  She was a project leader for Sunshine Winners 4-H Club, and volunteered in many of her daughter’s clubs and activities.  She was very dedicated and loving in her role as wife, mother, and grandma.

 Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, and her two brothers and their wives.  Survivors include daughter Sally and her husband, Kurt Thomas Jorgensen, three grandsons, Ryan Thomas and wife, Iris, Kyle Edward, and Eric Ross Jorgensen, two great grandsons, Edward Thomas and Leon William Jorgensen, sister, Mary and husband Glen Henderson, sister-in-law, Emily Jane Stoll, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

 She was known as Elmay, Tootsie Babe, Mom, Gramma, Aunt May, and GG – and loved by all.

 Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in the Holton Cemetery.
