 Thayle M. Keller, 93, of Holton, KS passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born February 14, 1923 in Mayetta, KS the daughter of Frank Aloysius and Mary (Battese) Maines.

Thayle graduated from Indian High School in Lawrence. She had worked for Seymour Egg Plant in Topeka, Sunflower Ordinance in Desoto, Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton and Atchison Leather Company. Thayle and her sister Claire (who preceded her in death) had lived most of their life taking care of each other in their later years.

She was baptized in the Catholic Church while she was attending high school. Thayle was also a member of the Citizen Band Potawatomi Nation.

Survivors include her niece, whom she raised since age 6, Deanna Joy (Maines) Mercer of Topeka, KS and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Shipshee Cemetery.
