Eva N. Rasch, 89, Topeka, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at her home, with her granddaughter, Virginia Rutherford, at her side.

She was born Oct. 6, 1927, at Princeton, in Franklin County, the daughter of Frank L. and Thelma H. Graves Herring. She graduated from Rock Creek High School, north of Meriden.

Eva worked at the Jostens Plant in Topeka for 31 years, retiring in 1991. She had also worked at Dollar General in Topeka as a cashier for 12 years.

She married Donald D. Rasch, Sept. 22, 1944, at Rock Creek. They divorced.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Heintzelman; three brothers, Jay, James & Leonard Herring; and five sisters, Lynette Fleming, Leola McLain, Ruth Baker, Helen Sheldon and Mary Robison.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Virginia Rutherford, of the home; her son, Dana L. (Deborah) Rasch, Peoria, AZ; two sisters, June Ashley, Denison, and Nelda McMillan, Topeka; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. The Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m.Friday, Jan. 27, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.mercerfuneralhomes.com.
