Raymond E. White, 93, of Holton, KS passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 in Topeka. He was born August 30, 1923 in Emmett, KS the son of Ernest Roosevelt and Anna Lucille (Hannah) White.

Ray attended Holton schools and proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Ray owned and operated Snappy Lunch in Holton for several years during the 1950’s. He later worked for Goodyear Tire Company in the management department for over 33 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton, Holton Lions Club, Holton V.F.W. Post 1367 and Holton American Legion Post 44.

Ray married Violet “Vi” Hopewell on July 2, 1945 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn White and a brother, Gene White.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Winters of Topeka, KS; 2 sons, Glenn White (Donna) of Topeka, KS and Gregg White (Doris) of Perry, KS; a sister, Eileen Griffin of Holton, KS; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends an hour before service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Holton Lion’s Club or Holton V.F.W.
