Marianne E. McClintock, 89, of Holton, KS passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Holton Community Hospital. She was born May 13, 1927 in Holton, KS the daughter of Frank L. and Josephine M. (McColgin) Davis.

Marianne attended Banner School (which was a one-room school house) and graduated from Holton High School in 1945. She was a life-long member of the Holton community as a farmer and stockman along-side her husband. In her earlier years, she taught at Lonestar Elementary (northeast of Holton) for 1 year and taught 1 year at Rockbrook Elementary (southeast of Holton).

Marianne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton, where she taught the Nursery Sunday School Class for over 50 years, she was a church custodian for many years and current member of First United Methodist Women’s Group. She was a 4-H Leader for Pleasant Valley Rustlers, an honorary member of Jackson County Livestock Association and a member/chaplain of Samuel Linscott Chapter NSDAR. In past years, she was active in Banner Grange, the Maple Grove Club and the Ladies Aide Club. She was a volunteer at the Roebke House where she displayed her homemade quilts.

She married Ted A. McClintock on May 1, 1947 in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Davis.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Boettcher (Ronald) of Emporia, KS; 4 sons, David McClintock (Zennie) of Holton, KS, Roger McClintock (Sue) of Holton, KS, Edward McClintock of Soldier, KS and Peter McClintock of Holton, KS; 2 sisters, Emily Jane Stoll of Holton, KS and Harriett Patton of Salida, CO; a brother, John E. Davis of Holton, KS; 7 grandchildren, Joshua, Tessa, Jim, Michelle, Tyrel, Bruce and Jill; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
