Emmett C. Labes, 83, of Belleville, Kansas, formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Belleville, Kansas Health Care Center.

He was born on December 8, 1933 in Concordia, Kansas the son of Emmett J. and Eva Bachtell Labes.

Emmett grew up in the Clifton, Kansas area and after high school he graduated from the Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas with an Associate Degree in Business. He was a salesman for a office supply company before starting his own office supply company. In later years he worked in Real Estate.

Emmett was a member of the Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ in Horton, Kansas. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing and cutting wood.

On June 25, 1987 he married Jane Mink Harris in Horton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Labes of Sherburn, Minnesota and Randy Labes of Gillette, Wyoming; two daughters, Brenda Dunn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Michelle Beasinger of Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Julius and Henry Labes and a sister, Betty Jackson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
