Dareld D. Lacey, 85, of Holton, KS passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Holton, KS. He was born October 25, 1931 in Holton, the son of Homer and Ruby Evelyn (Miller) Lacey.

Dareld graduated from Bancroft High School; after graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army.

 He had lived in the Holton community for most of his life. Dareld worked for Goodyear Tire Company, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of Holton Baptist Church and Goodyear Local #307.

Dareld married Jane Petree on April 28, 1955 in Holton. She survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 daughters, Terry Cooper (Rusty) of Conover, NC and Tammy Gilliland of Topeka, KS; 1 brother, Larry Bauerle of Vassar, KS; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey, Katelyn, Kylea and Brandon and 4 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Andrew, Braelynn and Zora.

 He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marilyn L. Haire, Dixie Westfall and Lois Lacey and 2 brothers, Harold Lacey and Kenneth Lacey.

A celebration of life service  will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Holton Cemetery.
