Dorothy E. Ronnebaum, 90, of Seneca, Kansas, died on Friday, February 24, 2107 at Life Care Center in Seneca.

She was born July 27, 1926, on a farm east of St. Benedict, Kansas, the daughter of Louis J. and Anna M. Kramer Kongs. She grew up there, attended St. Mary's School at St. Benedict and graduated from high school in 1944. She moved to Kansas City and began work at Western Auto as a secretary.  She was there for 2 years.   She returned to St. Bridget Community north of Axtell, where she kept house for her brother, Fr. Vincent Kongs. Later she went  worked for 18 years at Head Start in Seneca.

Dorothy was married on May 26, 1948, to Kenneth Ronnebaum at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Kansas.  They lived and farmed east of Seneca. He died on July 8, 1969. In 1970, she purchased a home in Seneca.  She entered Country View Estate Care Home on May 31, 1994.  

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and St. Ann's Altar Society at the church. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flower and attending  church picnics.

She is survived by a son, Kent Ronnebaum of Falls City, Nebraska; two daughters, Geani Ronne of Phoenix, Arizona and  Mary “Betsy” Williams of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; a brother, Louis Kongs of Topeka; a sister, Rita Feldkamp of Seneca; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Julie A. Boeckman on March 9, 1982; three brothers, Fr. Vincent Kongs, Donald Kongs and Walter Kongs; and two sisters, Lela Tangman and Sr. Susan Kongs C.S.J.

The rosary will be prayed at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca on Sunday, February 26th at 2 P.M. The Mass of Christian burial will be offered at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 A.M.. The burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given for the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School.
