Yvonne Annette Wood, 72, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Mission Village Living Center in Horton, Kansas.

She was born on January 12, 1945 in Sabetha, Kansas the daughter of Harold and Adeline Valiando Wood. Yvonne graduated from ACCHS in Effingham, Kansas in 1964. She had worked in the Housekeeping Department at Mt. Saint Scholastic. Yvonne was a member of the Effingham VFW Auxiliary and the Humane Society. One of Yvonne's biggest joys in life was spending time with her sons, grandson and family. She loved baking cookies and enjoyed sharing them with her friends and family especially during the holidays.

Survivors include two sons, John Boos of Atchison, Kansas and Jimmy Boos of Kansas City, Kansas; grandson, Cody Boos of Reno, Nevada; two sisters, Janis (Kenn) Krug of Horton, Kansas and Cheryl (Ron) Coffman of Topeka, Kansas; and a brother, Steve Wood of Meriden, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Wood.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Effingham, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the NEK Hospice or Mission Village Living Center and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
