Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

Glenn Clifford Cook, 91, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home.

Glenn was born on July 13, 1925 in Horton, Kansas the son of Thomas and Iva Cook. After graduating from Horton High School he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Glenn worked for Brown Atchison Electric for 46 years as a lineman and manager before retiring. He was a member of the Horton Masonic Lodge, Hiawatha Elks Lodge and the Horton American Legion.

On June 20, 1948 he married Nila Potter in Horton, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Angie Heaton, Vern Iverson, Paul Bierly, Sue Foley, Mike Sechler, Steve Sechler, Mike Overman and several great nieces and nephews.

Glenn was preceded in death his parents, three brothers, Raymond, James and Lawrence Cook, three sisters, Retha Cook, Mae Bierly and Irene Cook.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 1:00 to service time. Burial with military graveside rites will be at the Horton Cemetery.
