Debra Lynn Coleman, 59, Denison, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at her home.

She was born Dec. 5, 1957, at Topeka, the daughter of Hugh and Mary McBee Russell. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1975. She received her LPN degree from Kaw Valley School of Nursing in Topeka.

Debbie had recently worked at Developmental Services of Jackson County in Holton. She had owned and operated Maid Masters, a commercial cleaning business in Holton, and had worked as an LPN at Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka. She had worked as an EMT for Bloom Ambulance in Holton.

Debbie enjoyed being outdoors and shared that love as a Brownie Girl Scout Troop Leader at Denison.

She married Richard A. Coleman Sept. 2, 1977, at Holton. She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Russell, her step-father, Glenn Streeter, her mother, Mary Streeter, and two brothers, Tony Russell and Virgil Streeter.

Survivors include her husband, Richard, of the home; two daughters, Jennie Coleman and Jackie Coleman, and her son, Jeff Coleman, all of Denison; brother, John Russell, Topeka; step-brother, Jimmie Streeter, Ft. Scott; sister, Kelly Russell, Netawaka; step-sister, Debbie Ann Streeter, Topeka; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Kendall State Bank Community Hall at Valley Falls. Inurnment will be at the Denison Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
