ST. JOSEPH, MO - Virginia (Forbes) Sheridan, 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, April 2, 2017 in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

Virginia was born on January 30, 1927 in Wathena, Kansas to Russell and Edith (Wilson) Forbes. She lived in Elwood until moving to St. Joseph in 1993. Virginia worked and retired from J C Penny in St. Joseph. 

Virginia is a member of the First Baptist Church in Wathena and the American Baptist Women of the church. 

She married Gerald “Jerry” Sheridan on June 8, 1946 in Elwood, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2003. Virginia was also preceded by her parents. 

She is survived by daughter, Pat Hughes (Les) of Topeka, Kansas; 
Sons; Steven Bruce (Janet) Sheridan and Tim Sheridan both of St. Joseph, MO; 
4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 
Sisters; Dixie Paden of Wathena; 
June Handley of St. Joseph, Missouri; 
Brothers; Russell (Eddie) Forbes of Wathena; 
Phil Forbes of Richardson, Texas; 
Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. 

FUNERAL: Friday, April 7, 2017 – 11:00 A.M. 
At: First Baptist Church – Wathena 
Interment: Bellemont Cemetery – Wathena 
Visitation: 1 hour prior at 10:00 A.M at the church. Friends may call after 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena. 
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the First Baptist Church or the American Baptist Women of the church.
