Darlene Boyette

Darlene G. Boyette, 84, Auburn, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1932, at Ozawkie, the daughter of Everett and Lillie Meyers King. She graduated from Ozawkie High School in 1950.

She married Woodie L. Boyette, Dec. 7, 1951, at Topeka.

Darlene was a day care provider in her home for over 20 years. She had worked in the Insurance Department of Capper’s Weekly Publication in Topeka. She had attended Shawnee Heights Christian Church.

Darlene was preceded in death by a son in infancy; two brothers, Everett King Jr. and Alvin King; and five sisters, Lecta Decker, Oleta King, Louise Illig, Betty Butterfield, and Arlene Payne.

Survivors include her husband, Woodie, of the home; two sons, Philip Boyette, Topeka, and Paul Boyette, Springhill; four daughters, Patricia (Stan) Compton, and Pamela (Daryl) Compton, all of Topeka, Paula (James) Fox, Olathe, and Page (Mike) Lollman, Broken Arrow, OK; a sister, Linda Metzger, Valley Falls; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Ozawkie Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
