Victoria Louise (Drake) Blevins, 71, long time resident of Highland, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 6, 2017, at Mosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Vicki was born on August 19, 1945, in Hiawatha, Kansas to Charles and Mary (Idol) Drake. In her youth Vicki lived in Hiawatha, Kansas, Kansas City, and St. Joseph, Missouri. The family moved to Highland at the beginning of her 7th grade year where she made many life long friends.

Vicki married Jerry Blevins in 1963. Together, they had four daughters. She was a farm wife who served many meals to Jerry’s crew and was the bookkeeper for Blevins Farms and BT Limited. She served as activities director at the Highland Care Center and was owner/operator of Vicki’s Vintage and the Highland Guest House in recent years. She had a love for the arts. She crafted, painted, sketched, acted in community theatre, and encouraged her daughters in their love of music.

Granny loved and cherished her grandchildren. She had a fun playful personality that showed through her love of game playing and warm summer days at the pool. She always wore an apron when cooking and made many delicious baked treats.

Vicki dedicated her life to teaching others about the love of Christ. She has been an active member of the Highland Christian Church. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Group, served as Hospitality Chairman, Sunday School Superintendent, and was active in CWF for many years.

Survivors include her children: Kelly Twombly (John Paul) of Highland, Kansas, Tracey Nicodemus (David) of Olathe, Kansas, Stephanie Peterson (Matthew) of Highland, Kansas, and son-in-law, Scott Twombly of Highland, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. Also surviving is a sister, Kathy Boatright (Mark) of Troy, Kansas and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles, and her daughter, Leigh Ann Twombly.

Vicki’s celebration of life service will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Highland Christian Church. Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland after 10:00 am until 6:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2017. The family will meet friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, starting at 9:30 am at the church.
