Helen "JoRae" Krogman, 80, of Holton, died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.

She was born August 17, 1937 the daughter of William Henry and Helen Keifer Nelson.  She graduated from Effingham High School in 1955.

JoRae was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and the Altar Society at the church.  Her main vocation was mother and homemaker, but after the kids were raised she worked as a Para-Professional at the Holton High School.

She married Robert A. Krogman on August 10, 1957 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton.  He survives, of the home.

JoRae was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Krogman, who died shortly after birth, and her brother, Dwight Eugene Nelson.

Other survivors include a son, Gary Krogman (Beth), Silver Lake; two daughters, Nancy Kathrens (Jeff), Holton and Janet Gilliland, Shawnee; seven grandchildren, Bailey Renfro (Cameron), Perry Krogman, Rylie Krogman, Jaimie Goleman (Leif), Mark Kathrens, Joni Wardosky (David), and Jenna Gilliland, and one great grandson, Cameron Wardosky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28th at St. Dominic Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Mt.Calvary Cemetery at Holton.  JoRae will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to St. Dominic Catholic Church or Holton Community Hospital Foundation, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
