Patricia L. Platt, 60, Valley Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at her home.

She was born Jan. 24, 1957, at Santa Ana, CA, the daughter of Charles E. and Barbara A. Godfrey Montgomery Sr. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1975 and then served in the US Navy.

Pat had retired from the Kansas State Dept. of Revenue in Topeka after 35 years of service. She then worked for International Fuel Tax Agreement Inc. for three years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls.

She married Mark Platt, July 6, 1991, at Meriden.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jeff Montgomery.

Survivors include her husband, Mark, of the home; two daughters, Brandi (Michael) Atwell and Denise (Mike) Wilson, all of Valley Falls; three brothers, Bobby and James Montgomery, both of Valley Falls, and Charles E. Montgomery Jr., Hoyt; a sister, Deanna Bernauer, Topeka; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. The Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, followed by a visitation at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
