Keith Alan Ostrander, 78, Winchester, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his home after a long illness.

He was born September 2, 1939 at Humboldt, KS, a son and one of 13 children of Raymond C. and Mary Madelene Hartwig Ostrander. 

He was a 1957 graduate of Humboldt High School and attended Independence Community College. He earned a B.S. degree from Emporia State Teacher’s College. He served as a teacher and coach for many years in different school systems including the communities of Scranton, Winchester, Quinter, Hiawatha, Sabetha, Wellsville and Denver. CO, before returning to Winchester to serve as a coach and to farming and raising cattle in the Winchester area for many years.

He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester. 

He was married to Martha Irene Huston on July 11, 1970 in Winchester, she survives at the home. He is survived by two sons, Jeremy (Tamera) Ostrander, Glenwood, IA, Kelby (Emily) Ostrander, Winchester, four daughters, Jill (James) Tweed, Winchester, Meaghen (Bryan) Noll, Winchester, Gretchen (Anthony) Nicholl, Shawnee, Carrie (Lane) Stamper, Tonganoxie, two brothers, Jack Ostrander, Lucas, TX, Ken Ostrander, Salina, six sisters, Beverly Cox, Wichita, Donna Nord, Iola, Marilyn Carpenter, Grand Island, NE, Janice Anderson, Bentonville, AR, Madlyn Adams, Olathe, Judith Rutledge, Humboldt, and 29 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
 

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester. Burial at Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM, Monday at the Church in Winchester.
