Rosie Mabrey, 36, of Hiawatha, died unexpectedly Monday morning, December 18, 2017, in Topeka.

She was born July 1, 1981, in Hiawatha, the daughter of David and LaDonna Hall Moore and had lived in Hiawatha nearly all of her life. She grew up here where she attended school. Through the years, Rosie worked at a variety of jobs including Sonic. In recent years, she was a transitional living specialist for RCIL in Topeka.

Rosie married Darryl Mabrey June 28, 2008. He survives of the home, as well as, a son Jagert.

Other survivors include her mother LaDonna Moore, sisters D’Angel, Shelly and partner Erika, all of Topeka; with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father David Moore; brother James; nephews Trenton; Grandmother Barbara Hall; cousin Rachelle Dailing.

Services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl will officiate. Interment will follow at Hiawatha Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends 6 until 7 Thursday evening, and a half hour prior to services Friday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a scholarship fund to be set up for her son Jagert, sent in care of the funeral home.

NOTE: In honor of Rosie, the family asks everyone to wear purple.
